The Niche Vehicle Network has supported Microcab with grant funding for the design and engineering of a complete new vehicle, branded the H2EV.
Partners in the project include Lotus Lightweight Structures who are jointly developing the new chassis for the vehicle and also include specialist collaboration from experts such as Penso, RDM and Delta Motorsport.
The aim of the project was to completely redesign and reengineer a 4 seat multi purpose vehicle which could be used as a car, light van and taxi. The vehicle was designed to use either a hydrogen fuel cell drivetrain or a pure battery EV drive, depending on the user's requirements and their access to refuelling infrastructure.
