The iNetic iEV range of motors began life in 2019 as an in house design project with the aim of providing a cost effective range of traction motors in a modular format to facilitate the large number of niche and small to medium volume electric vehicle projects in the UK. Design for Manufacture, Design for Cost and Design for Quality were baked into the design from a clean sheet.
Funding & Competitions
The Feasibility Competition provides grants for industry-led projects focusing on catalysing innovative zero emission vehicle technologies through the undertaking of initial desk-top research activities.
The Early Stage Vehicle R&D stream supports collaborative R&D projects producing a proof of concept, demonstrating the accelerated development of technologies on a zero emission vehicles.
The Innovative Charging stream supports collaborative R&D for projects producing an innovative charging proof of concept accelerating the development of innovative off-board charging solutions for electric vehicles.
Late Stage Vehicle R&D
The Late Stage Vehicle R&D stream provides grants for collaborative R&D to take technologies from demonstration through to production which can be demonstrated on a UK zero emission or low carbon niche vehicle.

Developed by Edge Mobility with the support of the Niche Vehicle Network, the QXS range of compact, rugged drive trains deliver peak power levels of 10 to 50 kW and are an ideal solution for manufacturers of light electric vehicles.
PowerPOD’s are the first modular battery system utilising quick change capability for motorcycles and other L-Cat vehicles.
Composite wheels are a disruptive product, offering attractive performance benefits, but mainstream adoption requires mitigation of perceived risk and cost. OEMs rely on niche brands to prove technologies before adoption - including successful testing and robust end-to-end production processes.
Developing a niobium-enhanced, novel vehicle chassis that pioneers the arrival of the innovative metal in the automotive industry.
This project was to develop, prototype and prove (on a test bench and in a HVAC test unit) an advanced high temperature solid state Phase Change Material (PCM) heater core integrated into the electric vehicle HVAC air handling system, to provide a more efficient solution to electrical heating, to speed up the immediate cabin heating and to demist the windscreen giving drivers improved comfort and safety.
