Project Overview

The Amphibious ATV project was initiated by Whinwhistle Fisheries search for a suitable rescue / maintenance vehicle for their leisure fishery operations, finding that there was no suitable amphibious EV on offer.

The project was lead by iNetic Ltd, a designer and manufacturer of electrical machines. Customised Composites worked alongside iNetic to provide a commercially viable solution to Whinwhistle Fisheries, taking a good initial design to manufacture.

Technology Developed

The hydraulic system powered through electric motors designed by iNetic is unique for this type of vehicle, especially when combined with Customised Composites use of structural composite components forming a functional light weight, high strength chassis, from bonded flat panels and high strength carbon fibre angle sections.

This approach allows the project to alter certain dimensions and uses of the vehicle for more specific customers.  iNetic and Customised Composites will work with Whinwhistle Fisheries to complete a rigorous testing plan before producing our initial batch of vehicles.

Significant Project Outcomes

This project has proven the effectiveness of combining a number of different technologies to meet a genuine global market demand as well as specific client requirements.  This type of vehicle can be used and is used by a variety of commercial, humanitarian, and military organisations and companies.  Our unique use and combination of the chosen technologies, combined with the design and production route chosen has already raised interest in a number of different sectors and countries.

Future Commercial Opportunities

The project partners have an agreement in place with a Canadian distributor of amphibious 6x6 vehicles.  After testing and final refinement the project hopes to put our first batch into production and are looking into securing funds and sales to ship a batch to Canada.

NVN Funding

This funding has brought together a consortium that, despite numerous hurdles, has designed and manufactured a unique and stylish amphibious 6x6 EV.  The NVN input and guidance has been the focus required to get this product to the stage where we plan on starting mass manufacturing the vehicles.
